A podcast is an audio file that people can load and listen to. Podcasts are used for a wide variety of things. So far in my life I have used them to do group projects only. It was easy to update each member on where I was in my work by posting a podcast on our website. Podcasts have been very helpful in my college career. When a professor was absent he/she could simply record a podcast, send us an e-mail, and then we could listen to it and receive the lecture without the professor needing to be present.
Thanks for your post, Ariel. I think we future educators will find podcasting to be an invaluable tool for keeping students and their parents up to date with what's going on in our classrooms.
ReplyDeleteI really like that your professors in college recorded podcasts in case they missed a lecture. I wish that some of my professors would've done that, because I think it is a great way to gain the information in case of an absence.

ReplyDeleteI hope to have a podcast lecture sometime soon. I can't say this would be a technology that I see myself using just to use it though.
ReplyDeleteI have never had a podcast lecture, but i would think that they could be very useful for missed classes. Also if a student of mine misses one of my classes even at the HS level this technology could be utilized.

I also agree with how your professor cared about of you missed a lecture you can watch a recorded podcast. The video was very useful and visual.
